The vacancy
Due to the increased workload resulting from the support to EPC warranty period of Volkswagen power plant (Wolfsburg, Germany), the Programme Management team needs to be supported by an additional staff on a temporary basis (duration of the EPC warranty period).
The Project Engineer (PE) will be responsible of working with both Programme Manager (PM) and Senior Programme Manager (SPM) in the provision of a safe, on schedule and on budget maintenance projects in both transactional and long term service agreements programmes within Germany, always following corporate Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) procedures:
The PE role includes overall site management functions and responsibility for remote support to site-based works in all German power plants.
The PE role includes responsibility on the EPC warranties of Volkswagen power plant.
As the Customers’ point of contact within Mitsubishi Power Europe, the PE (part of the “PM Team”) will manage all internal stakeholders across numerous departments to achieve the aims of the concerned contracts and satisfy the Customer’s requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Outages and warranty claims:
Create work scope documents from Customer’s work specifications.
Manage EPC warranty claim procedure
Lead internal planning working with Field Service back up office.
Lead external planning in front of Customer and vendors.
Lead post outage activities (site restoration, shipment of parts, etc.) upon completion of services.
Commercial operations:
Lead the commercial process of the projects (Request for Quotation, Quotation, Purchase Order, and Invoice)
Lead the preparation and follow up of cost of estimations for service proposals on Gas Turbines, Generators and Steam Turbines.
Engineering:
Provide first response technical support as required (troubleshooting)
Manage the Non-Conformity Report process
Support the engineering team in the Root Cause Analysis process
Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental (QHSE):
Lead project QHSE and ensure alignment with Customer’s expectations
Lead the continuous improvement procedure during operation and outages
Lead the development of a qualified vendors’ network in the assigned area
Produce QHSE related documentation as required
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as temporary responsible for the duties of the PM in case of their absence, with regards to assigned Contracts / Projects.
Work closely with PM and SPM to analyse the Profit & Losses (P&L) for the assigned projects.
Work closely with the PM back office develop the Quality Management System (QMS) establishment and continual improvement for the related Programme Management related structure and procedures.
Support Customer in the maintenance and cybersecurity related topics of the site control system.
Skills and Experience Required
Fluent in German and English (mandatory)
Excellent communication skills, willingness to learn and ownership
Experience in O&M or service in power generation industry (mandatory)
Experience in control systems (DCS – distributed control system / TCS – turbine control system)
Experience in Project Management
University degree in Engineering (mandatory), with relation to power generation is a plus
Computer knowledge and mastery of common software packages for office work (mandatory)
